Ein Musiktheater über Fremde, Ungleichheiten und Freundschaft

Nebenan, eine Geschichte über drei benachbarte Menschen, die unterschiedlicher nicht sein könnten. Außer ihrer Liebe zur Musik haben sie nicht viel gemeinsam. Sie leben in ihrer kleinen Welt ohne aufeinander zu achten oder zu hören. Eines Tages bekommen sie Besuch von einem ungewöhnlichen Gast, der auf eine charmante Art versucht, die Leben der anderen durcheinander zu bringen.

Haunting, poignant and relentlessly physical, Julia Wolfe’s Anthracite Fields is an oratorio about coal miners and a fitting recipient of the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for Music. Inspired by miners living in the Pennsylvania coal region, Wolfe uses oral histories, interviews with miners and their families, speeches, children’s rhymes, and other sources to create a powerful cantata that speaks of the American worker’s experience.

It’s finally time to make our debut concert as the newly founded ensemble N! We invite you to join us at Mi Barrio, and enjoy some amazing contemporary music with us, mostly by young composers. We’re very excited to even have two world premieres ready for you!
